Default Eibach Pro-Kit v.s. H&R Sport v.s. Tanabe On stock struts

Looking to lower my 99 GS300. Looking for something that will handle well and wont break your back like some of the coilovers I have had on other rides. Don't want to slam the car since it is my daily driver and New York City streets aren't the greatest. I am using stock struts and plan to upgrade later to some better non adjustable struts in the future. Thanks for the info in advance

I am very happy with my Tanabe NFs - nice drop, but not too much. Suppose to keep the ride close to stock. I did it when my GS430 had 19k miles, by 35k the factory struts were toast. I now have Bilstein sports and am very pleased with that choice.

Not sure your fund situation or mileage but my vote would be to do both springs/struts at the same time. You should save some labor and it will make a helluva difference in how your car rides/handles.

Good luck...

I had H&Rs with Bilstein Sports on my 2001 GS300 for a couple of years and the ride was great. Go with the H&Rs, they give you a little more drop than the eibachs and do not ride hard at all. I plan to get the same set up again for my 430. Im also in NY, and even with the TTE lip i barely ever scraped with the H&Rs.
My friend just got Tanabe Nfs for his 99 GS300, the drop is very nice and he is really happy with the ride quality. i think the tanabe's are a little cheaper on some website than the H&R's.

Thanks for the info guys. Any of you have pics of your rides with these drops or your drop? I'm thinking H&R over Eibach for alittle lower stance without going too low. BklynGS I was also thinking of going with Bilstein Sports so thanks for the info on that. I'm not really feeling the Tanabe because I used them in the past with other cars and they were alittle bouncy for my liking.

thanks!
my speedo reads 1 or 2mph slower than actual speed. if not for GPS, i would have been blind to the fact. tires are stock.

car was parked all day. as far as i know

ride is GREAT. from another post
car reacts to steering input faster, corners harder, rolls over bumps easier, and looks tougher. only negative is increased road noise on certain kinds of roads. [of course i know this is expected when upgrading from 17s to 19s.]

One thing:

Your GS is a '99? It's probably ready for new struts,
I would HIGHLY recommend doing this at the same time.

It's really no more labor to do that once the strut/spring
assembly is off the car.

H&Rs for a bit more aggressive drop

Eibach for very conservative drop but perhaps the
best ride quality

not to mention the increased spring rate of the H&Rs. they'll surely exercise the stocks into a painful oily death lol.

That looks sweet as well. Do you have a side pic to see the actual fender gap in the front and rear?
