Since they are springs, I would just have a shop do it. Springs require you to take apart the strut compared to a coilover. Since OEM springs are crazy compressed, there may be a little bit of danger without the proper equiptment. Now don't get me wrong, you are able to DIY, but for springs, id pay to play.

It's not really that hard. You will definitely need a spring compressor though. I rented one from my autozone store.

Let me tell you though..you WILL want an impact gun to compress the springs. I used a rachet and I can't tell you how long it took me to compress (and how difficult). I finally invested in an impact gun after.

98silvgs, i was in the same situation couple months ago. Don't listen to GSteg....he's WAY TO advance for both of us, he knows too much about Lexus

anyway, I decided to bring it to my friend's shop and ask him to do it. I can tell you this, I feel more safe to pay someone who knows what he's doing to do my car than do it myself. I'm not a DIY guy. But in the other hand, if you know what you're doing & believe you can do it by yourself...boy...you will FEEL PROUD & GOOOOD after it's all done and totally worth it.

i watched my friend do one side and i did the other side with his help. i love working on cars and always up for learning.

the one thing you will want is POWER TOOLs. made the process so much easier. but then again, i installed coilovers so they were easier than just springs. you might want to change out the shocks too while you're at it.
