Ive never done this, only on used rotors... but I am sure it wouldn't hurt to check the balance and flatness of the rotor because nothings perfect.

This depends, certain brands of cheaper generic rotors specify that it needs to be resurfaced before installation. But for all Brembo OE/performance rotors, it's not needed nor recommended. So in general, no, rotors do not need to be touched other than cleaning off the rust inhibitor grease before install.

PS. what's his dad's name and which shop does he work at? I just want to know so I never take my car there..

i just spent mucho $$$$ on my new brakes so i am gonna send them in to get resurfaced....LOL

Thats like buying a new car and rebuilding the engine to make sure its in TOP shape.

exactly. why would they make rotors that need to be resurfaced the moment you buy them rather than make them plug and play right from the box unless the rotor is just defective.

also its usually better to just buy new rotors than resurface unless the cost is substantial cuz youre just shaving more metal off the thickness of the rotor to make it flat/even and that might cause it to crack/break faster.
