Do LS400 rear brakes bolt up to 98 GS400?
Looking to upgrade my rear brakes... I have heard the cheapest way to do this was to install LS brakes... I am planning on getting the Supra TT brakes for the front...
What I want to know is which brakes are a direct bolt up for the rear of the 98 GS400? Part numbers would be great if you have them for everything... pads, shims, calipers, ss lines and what ever I am missing...
Thanks

That would be the only complaint about my TT bbk is the fact that the front end really dives......it does stop really well, but with my sti it didn't seem to nosedive near as much. more of a sit down feel! But I highly recommend the TT fronts!

So am I wrong about any of the LS brakes for the rear bolting up to the GS? I thought I read some where here that someone had done that .... I couldn't find it by searchingh though.. From what I remember... the poor man's bbk was to get Supra TT brakes for the front and then to get LS rear brakes for the rear because the LS rears are bigger than the GS rears..... Any help on this guys?
thanks
thanks

except supra calipers are heavier. also, none of the rear ones bolt up to 2gs. if you want it to bolt up, you need to fab your own parts.

I believe the Supra rotors are bigger too. The LS brakes need an RCA kit = BOOO...
Also the Supra TT brakes were the best factory brakes since it came out in 1993 and were the best until the Porsche (forgot which model) stock brakes beat it in 2006 I think. Not too shabby.

The LS rear brakes aren't worth the effort.
The 2GS rear brakes are already fairly large,
and by messing around with different front
& rear brake systems all you do is upset the balance.
For example, the StopTech BBK is designed to be
balanced with the OE rear brakes. They increase
brake torque, not just clamping force.
If you want to change the brake bias, you can
accomplish this by using a more aggressive pad
on the stock rear brakes. I did this on my MR2
to change the bias slightly and it worked great.
Of course, the MR2 chassis has some rear weight bias,
(45% front/55% rear) so this is helpful.
On a sled like the GS the front brakes do about
85% of the work anyway.
