Default 06+ gs350/gs430 brakes on 2gs

tried to search but nothing really came up. i wonder if anyone has tried or confirmed whether this will work? for the 2gs, right now the options for inexpensive bbk is the supra tt brakes or the ls400 brakes (with some modifications)

i wonder if the big brakes from the gs350/430 on the 3gs can be bolt on the 2gs? or the brackets are completely different???

Great thread, I've wondered as well.

I also wonder why no one in the 3GS forum has gotten someone to make slotted or cross drilled OEM size rotors like we asked for the 2GS.

for the stock replacement, i feel it's about supply and demand. the 3gs market is still far from the 2gs, especially the peak of 2gs couple years ago. demand was much bigger. i go on 3gs forum now and except couple of hard core people, a lot of people are mainly just talking about simple wheels or staying stock. give it time, it will ramp up.

but since the 2gs still has a big market, and not everyone can afford (or willing) to spend several thousands on bbk, if the 3gs big brakes fit right on the 2gs, that would be a great alternative!

just a side note, imho i quite like the look of the 3gs big brakes. very beefy, i like it a lot more than the supra tt or the ls400 unit. plus it has a plain surface where you can put on LEXUS logo easily

i think i remember reading that thread, but i thought those were the ls460 brakes? i know they look the same, but i am not sure about the brackets. from that thread my conclusion was that the ls460 brakes are not direct bolt on for the 2gs

but 3gs (and 2is) for that matter might still be open. the calipers could look the same but the bracket is a different story

more mystery

Carbon ceramic brake system. The end of all BBK setup!!

It would be awesome if Lexus extended their F-line to the 2nd gen GS.

I was wondering the same thign as well, be nice to get some 06+ brakes adn wheels. The brakes on the GS460 look liek the 14inch discs from the touring LS460, but i could be wrong... they are indeed very strong.

Exclamation

After seeing the brakes in person and from recently posted pics, it appears the brakes are very similar to the LS430 monoblock brakes. If this is true then the 3rd gen brakes wont fit..
