Most normal shops will not turn slotted or drilled rotors. My friend that works over at a Mercedes dealership tells me to take it to a dealership that sells a car with drilled or slotted rotors. He said the cheapest route is to goto the chevy dealer since the corvettes have drilled rotors and thus their service dept should have the proper tools to have it machined. You could take it to a Mercedes or Porscue dealer, but I'd assume the prices would be quite a bit higher lol.

it depends on the machine they have. some higher end machines they can do slotted / drilled rotors no problem. the one i go to does that all the time

Yeah, higher end machines at higher end shops. That's why I mentioned Benz, Porsche, etc. Chevy is the cheapest "dealer" place to do it though. What place did you take yours to? None of the independent brake shops in my area will turn slotted or drilled rotors...ZERO. I live in Dallas too and called at least 20-30 different shops. None of them will do slotted/drilled.
