Are we 100% sure that GS400 rotors are the same as 01GS430 rotors?

Default Are we 100% sure that GS400 rotors are the same as 01GS430 rotors?

tire rack all of a sudden says there's a different part # for 2000 GS400 front rotors than 2001 GS430 front rotors and they want $68 instead of $46????

I thought they're the same but wanted to see what everyone else says??????

2000 GS400

2001 GS430

For the 2000 GS400, it takes a rotor w/ 296mm total diameter, 50.50mm total height. The 2001 GS430 takes a 296mm total diameter, 50.80mm total height rotor according to Brembo. All of the other vendors list the same rotor in their app. guides for the front except Brembo for some reason. They seem to have a more defined fitment for this application that other vendors. Then again, you are talking about the difference of 0.30 mm... That would be Brembo's suggested fit though not ours necessarly, even though this is a miniscule difference we have to put what they reccomend in our system.

I pmed Darrel Diller and he said "yes, the split is July, 2000. Similar rotor but different."

so apparently the 01+ has different rotors.

Now I'm pissed! I knew it...I just knew it that when I got my recent Brembo's installed that mine looked slightly larger than the last ones that I ordered 2 years ago. My pads do NOT go to the edge of the rotors (and the shop mentioned this to me when I brought it back to them to check on the brake squeel; I thought they were BS'ing me) on the fronts only (ordered from Sport-brakes.com; just the fronts) and coincidently I am getting a lot of brake squeel while turning. What the heck should I do now I had them on for about 1 month now...It all makes sense now there is about a little less then 1/2" part around the edge that never gets touched by the pads! Please advise what you would do if you were me! Thanks Chuck for bringing this up, I have to resolve this ASAP!

Thanks Brandon, that was helpful. I have two questions and I know they're not that easy....

1. Why did the price change recently only on GS430 rotors? Did they switch to different rotors or did the price just go up?

2. Why are the 2001 plus rotors over 50% more money than the 98-00 rotors?

Yeh, I noticed that it's the same case with the IS300 when I was searching for brakes for my wife's car.
