I don't remember removing the whole lining. I think I just pulled it away from the shock mount area enough to get my hands in there with a wrench.

Good write-up though!

Mine took about 6 hours. I spent most of my time on the back. I couldn't get the shock to line up with LCA. PITA I tell ya.

do you have to cut the bumpstop? what is the effect of not cutting vs cutting one?

You don't have to cut the bump stop. I didn't cut mine, and haven't noticed any issues.

You only cut them if its in the directions. On mines it clearly stated NOT to.

The instructions for the Eibach Pro-Kit says to cut them, but I still didn't. I've done about 13K city miles since then, and haven't had any issues. I probably do hit the bump stops from time to time, but it isn't that big of a deal. I would rather have a slightly hard bump than damage the dampers.

If you cut them it will damage the dampers?? Then why would the manufacturer recommed cutting certain springs?? Ive always thought they do that due to spring rate and height.

It won't necessarily damage the dampers. The bump stops are there to increase the effective spring rate VERY quickly just before the suspension bottoms out. Cutting the bump stops causes that to happen a little later since the suspension has to be even more compressed to reach them. Basically, it is just a trade-off to give the dampers a little more compression travel at the expense of protection.
