New HKS Hipermax III - Hipermax II Discontinued
I was in the market for a set of coilovers but found out the HKS Hipermax II has been discontinued (for several months now). Maybe this is old news, but the HKS Hipermax III has come out already, but not yet available for the SC. According to and hks representative, HKS Hipermax III for the jza80 chassis (Supra 93-98) is already out. jzz30 specific should be available by the end of the year. Price on yahoo.co.jp is 166,320 yen, roughly 1660 USD.

The new HKS Hipermax III has recently been released by HKS in Japan and is targeted at street use with a standard radial based tire. The Hipmerax III has been improved over the previous II and Performer models for improved driving comfort without sacrificing suspension performance.
Utilizing the advanced Hiper Digressive Piston (HDP), the Hipermax III features smooth controlled travel compared to competing products. The suspension kits are designed specifically for each vehicle with spring rates tested and proven for each model.

Here are some videos of the HKS Hipermax III, check both of them out. Heights adjustable without affecting travel/spring preload, which wasn't available on hipermax I and hipermax II.

My understanding is that there is HKS Hipermax III and HKS Hipermax III sport. The HKS Hipermax III sport obviously with higher spring rates for greater handling at the expense of some ride comfort.

1) The NMB corporation make of reliance it continues adoption. Sharp handling is actualized.

3) Adopting necessary total length pitch integral expression to single tube system and the styling of the HKS suspension tradition which guarantees high travelling efficiency. Pliant riding comfort and the styling are actualized.
4) Selecting optimum spring rate due to model. Resistance fading, it is superior in resistance fatigue characteristic.
5) Adopting the bulk piston which has the linear quality which pursues "feeling good quality".
6) Light weight conversion, it is superior corrosion-resistant.
7) HIPERMAX succeeding 30 step adjustment systems from ll Performer. It corresponds to wide setting.

This makes me want to get rid of my Hipermax II's and upgrade
I want something with a stiffer spring rate. I wonder what the spring rates of hipermax III sport ones are

Pretty old news. But the coilovers should be pretty good. The Hipermax 3's were designed on the japanese roads(Much smoother than american). They are doing testing in america right now to further improve the durability for the american cars, before they release it. That's y they dont have it on the website yet.
