Default I Broke Daizen rear sway

So I couldn't understand why my car felt weird in turns, the back seemed a little more squirly in turns. At first I thought that I might be hitting the turns a little too hard and that my TT kicked in and so the back was getting loose. But I noticed it a lot more. So I decided to look at the rear end. This is what I found.

Anyone else with this problem?

I'm not surprised. I rather have the TRD bar over the Daizen bar any day.

The OEM bar is soft enough to provide flexing before it snaps.

The TRD bar is stiff enough to tolerate more beating.

However, the Daizen falls in the middle

How in did this happen? It takes a lot of force and heavy beating to get a rear bar to break.. right.. Time for TRD braces..

Holy cow, it would seem to me that it would take A LOT to actually break in half. Hit anything that you can remember lately?

I've bent my end links before, but so far my TRD sways have been holding up pretty well. If your area has a lot of salt on the roads, it will slowly eat away and weaken the bar until it finally gives way.

Well jeff from what you told me you drive the car pretty hard so the TRD braces really hold up than.. Are the TRD's bigger in diameter than the Diazens?

Wow.... That definately does not look good. Sway bars should never be too stiff. Your situation (broken bar) usually is the end result of a bar being too stiff. Sway bars should allow some flex while cornering in to allow other parts of the suspension to absorb the g forces and sprung mass during cornering. Take a look at some BMW M cars like the M6 here on the ring. http://youtube.com/watch?v=5IDwbcCWgUk Too much force on the sway bars and snap..... I know in racing, sway bars are adjustable to allow the stiffness to be tuned for different situations and prevent situations like yours.. Do they make adjustable sways for our cars? Good luck, and sorry to hear.

Ouch. Road salt might be an issue. Seems unlikely that even hard street use would do that. Maybe too much drifting? ;-)
