Default Are Supra's rear brakes direct fit for the GS?

^^ As the titled stated. I currently have the Supra TT's front brakes on my GS, but I'd like to know if the rears are interchangable as well.

It even makes you ponder why one would do that, considering the stock rear brakes on the GS are already 2 pistons, but I'm just wondering for the heck of it.

2 pistons homie. You can clearly see it...

On one piston brakes, the piston is on the inside. On two piston brakes, there is a piston on the inside and one on the outside (point being the piston is always on the inside first, then move to the outside). That's just a way to check piston size when you look at a car's brake setup.

PS - I'm just curious about this setup because I still think the Supra's brakes are superior.

although they are 2 piston like stock the diff is pad surface area and rotor size , the supra and ls430 have a pad area about 50% larger and with rotor size of over 1inch larger it develops greater brake trq so yes they are better i know for i once had ls430 calipers out back with special made bracket and you could feel the diff immed

I doubt they'd do that to the rears though...

Ed, you forgot to mention ... piston size ... the pistons of the Supra rears are much bigger than the stock GS ones.

The rears may not fit, but putting the TT kit up front should be a huge improvement. Lextreme has the TT kit for a decent price. http://www.lextreme.com/lsbrake.html

I was just going through some of the old pictures I have while posting over at Supraforums. The Supra's makes the GS looks so inferior. The GS's pistons look small and puny.

Supra fronts and rear calipers:

Well the stock front GS caliper has both pistons on the inside, so i assumed that it's 1 piston in the rear. anyway thanks for clarifying.

The thing I find so amazing is that even with the relatively tiny swept area of the stock brakes, the 60-0mph stopping distance recorded by C/D when they tested the GS400 in 1998 was only 118ft., which isnt bad for a 3800lb. car. The Supra TT kit up front must cut that distance considerably.

Theoretically, it could also increase the braking distance if it throws the balance of the stock system out. SCC does a lot of braking tests and this does happen occasionally.
