I just got the EDFC but don't know where to install it. Just wondering if you guys who have this can give me some ideas of where to install it to make it look clean. Thanks.

Does anyone have this thing installed? And what is this I'm reading about the memory gets all erased when it shuts off. What the heck? So are you supposed to keep it on all the time?

i've seen some nice installs done in the ashtray, those look nice and clean and can be concealed when needed! i'll try diggin up some pics for you, i know i've seen them on here before.

Do a search for "EDFC Install" or similar key words. You will probably get more info searching on your own, as this is a frequently asked topic, especially to OG's like me.

Thanks guys. I was up till 4:30 am reading post after post. Even then, I see that ppl were thinking of placing the EDFC in the ashtray compartment but never actually seen anyone doing it and posting pics. Is there anyone out there that placed the EDFC in the ashtray?

"Somebody" will be showing their totally new custom ashtray install when it is finished in the next week or two. Not sure if you can wait, otherwise I know there are some old installs out there, just need to keep searching.

I can't think of a screenname of an ashtry install but there are some out there. For other various installs options, try GSing430, Tamr_Gus98, LXOGOOD. off the top of my head. Do a search under their screen names.

Like I said a new EDFC ashtry install will be done shortly, but you'll have to wait a bit to see him post it.

I found this one which I like better. I hope the owner doesnt mind. I just havent had the time to do it. RMM's install is sick.. but i dont have the patience or tools to make that.

No, actually he removed the entire ashtray unit and installed his EDFC in the empty space created by it's removal.

I wonder who this is ...... Can't wait to see it!!!!!!

i actually removed the ashtray ( i dont smoke cigs and i dont smoke in car)

so ashtay had no use for me , i had a custom bezel made to fit in that spot and had fabricator remove lighter and mount into bezel so i could retain the power from lighter socket for say lighter or radar or something

i like it there for the greenish color of display matches perfectly with or radio and climate control and its always in front of maybe for i am constantly adjusting susp to suit my driving mood
