Default Ques. on brakes and need to get new pads; suggestions???

I have a 2000 GS400. About 2 years ago I installed Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors (oem size) and Axis Metal Master brake pads. The car stopped great. Just recently the front brakes have been squeeking and have a rough feel upon braking. I inspected the front rotors and to my surprise the rotors had a 1/4" lip on the outside rim of each rotor! Almost as if the pads are "digging" into the rotor. Why am I experiencing this? Could it be my calipers acting up?

I am going to get these rotors cut and replace with new pads. Which pads would you guys recommend? I read about EBC green/red and Hawk...what do you think? P.S. I'm pretty hard on my driving.

Thanks\

you might want to check the thickness on those rotors...may be out of spec and you wouldn't want to use them again....the brake pad compound may be too aggressive that is why its cutting into your rotors...ideally the pad should be wearing before the rotors.

Got it...I am going to get these rotors cut soon but I need to buy new pads first. Now, which pads would you suggest that's not too aggressive on the rotors but have great stopping power and no noise?
Thanks,
Nick

Hmm...well i'm running ceramics by wagner not sure about stopping power since i don't slam on my brakes that often...lol. They are noiseless and dustless which I love, keeps the wheels from getting dirty. I think they would work fine.

I have the Akebono ceramic pads from tirerack.com and they are extremely quiet and clean. I would highly recommend them.
