Default lot of play in brakes after replacing pads

I recently replaced my brake pads myself and had my rotors turned. Car has around 65k on it. Since then, I seem to have a lot of 'play' i guess you'd call it while pressing the brake pedal before they start to hold. Even more recently I had a 60k tuneup done and they flushed the brake fluid and I thought after that they'd do back to not having to push so much on the pedal but that didn't fix it.

Any help appreciated.

I would say bleed them again. You and one other person can do it real easy. The toughest part is jacking up the car and taking the wheels off. Or you can just take it to a shop.

i've seen brake MC's fail because the caliper piston was retracted without the bleeder open, thus, pushing up dirty, contaminated brake fluid up the system, and thru the brake MC seals, and into the reservoir...

when retracting pistons, i ALWAYS open the brake bleeder and then retract the pistons, then, bleed each corner i open.. then, when i'm done the brake job, i bleed all 4 corners starting RR, LR, RF, LF with the engine off...

well, I didn't open the brake bleeder before pushing the pistons back up but I hope that's not the case. I will try and bleed the brakes again, myself this time, and see if that will help.

Thanks for the help.
