Default Adjusting Tein CS v2

I did a search and couldn't find this topic. I'll try and keep it short. I had my Tein CS v2 installed by Exact. I told them to drop to 2 finger gap and they did. I waited for the springs to settle a bit and they did. As for adjustment, I wanted to raise the car a bit higher but it seems the spring is already fully compressed while on the seatlock at the 2 finger gap drop. I can go 8 threads lower, but how can I compress the spring so it'll give me enough room to adjust the seatlocks upwards?

Do the V2s adjust differently than the V1s? On the V1s, you just use the wrenches to move the locking plates and the springs will compress and expand accordingly.

Oh ok. When I just looked at it. I didn't think by turning the seatlock that that would be enough pressure alone to compress the spring to adjust it. Thanks Neo!

Actually. That is not working for me. The top seatlock does nut push the spring up or compress it because there is a rubber bushing in between the top seatlock and spring which makes it "stuck" as one piece. I can't independently turn the seatlock without the spring wanting to swivel as well. And it is tough as hell to even try and turn it 2 or 3mm.

I gave it a try again. This time with a large socket wrench. I attached it to the Tein wrench and spring would not compress still. The whole assembly flexes and looks like I'm about to break the shock.

Either the design has changed or I am not sure I understand. Here is a pic from the Tein website:

You are talking about part C, right? I need a closer pic since I don't see this rubber bushing you are talking about. (I'm not saying it is not there ) Are you able to unlock the lower spring seat? When I did adjustments on the V1, I unlocked the lower seat, adjusted the top, then lock them again. It worked for me.

If this seems to not be working, either wait for a response from someone with the V2 or just take it back to John. It might cost a little to get it done, but it is better than damaging your 1k+ investment.

I can kind of see the rubber part you are talking about from these pics from RMMGS4:

I am not sure why it would hamper you though. Hmmm.

What does the manual say? Here is a stupid question. You did unlock the botom seat and then adjusting the top seat right? You are not messing with it in the locked position?

I have V2's and they should adjust just by unlocking the bottom seat and then turning the upper seat until it is where you want.
Try getting some PB blaster and squirting in the threads and letting it sit for a little while before the next time you try. They are a b***h to move don't get me wrong, but I have done mine a few times without issues.

Yes, I did unlock the bottom seatlock and then tried to adjust the top one. I think I may need to use that PB blaster to lubricate the rubber from the metal spring? Can I use something else like WD-40? I think since either the rubber is still new or some debris got in between, that is why I'm having such a hard time.

Thank you guys. You've been a great help.

Or put a 3ft metal pipe on the end of the wrench. It works wonders
