Default front suspension problems?

I have a 2002 GS430 with about 47K. At low speeds (e.g. in parking garages) as I go over speed bumps I hear weird "pinging" sounds coming from what sounds to be the front suspension (like something is loose and needs to be tightened or something). The "bounce" of the shock seems normal and handles well at speed. Any ideas? Should I be concerned?

I agree, check the balljoints, sway bar mounts, and brake shims. I am leaning more toward brake shims though. Still, check the balljoints, you do not want to experience what happens when they fail.

His car only has 47k miles though. Do the balljoints fail that early? I thought it was more of a 80-120k miles issue.

My car has a little less than 20k miles right now, but I drive pretty hard sometimes. Hopefully mine aren't shot
