Default What is a fair price for kyb gr2 install?

Just like the title reads, how much should I expect to pay for the installation of my kyb's? I have gotten quotes from $350 to $300 and I only paid $250 for the shocks and struts.

Also, I posted a reply asking the same question just a minute ago to another thread, but how much should it cost to have my new ball joints installed? Obviously I should do them both at the same time right? Wont this save me some money on labor? How much?

Lastly, where can I find the daizen bushings that I have been reading about. Maybe I can have those installed too. How much do they cost to install? I am looking for dramatic improvement in my ride quality after this and I am open to suggestions. Thanks.

$300 seems about right for shocks. I would the balljoints should be included in that price, they are really easy to do. Bushings, if you buy the daizen ones, look to spend some money there. I did them myself, and it is not easy. A lot more stuff has to come off, the castor bushings are a huge PITA to take out. I would say a couple of hundred for the bushings. But if you do it all at once, you should be able to catch a break. I would say $500 and under to be fair for all of this. I think carson has the bushings. Just look in the vendors section. They are about $100 for the entire set.

I paid $300 a couple of years ago to have my L-Tuned shocks and springs installed. I also had an alignment done for $79. This was from a Lexus shop not a dealer.

Im going with a local shop I found that deals with a lot of imports. They quoted me $300 and maybe that will include the ball joints once they see how easy it should be once they are in there. I really need to find one good shop and stick with it so Im keeping my fingers crossed that these guys are a one stop shop.

I got quotes around $400-$500 for mine so i decided to do it myself. It took aprox 8 hours to do all four. Rented a spring compressor from AutoZone and bought a 120 volt impact wrench from Walmart (definitely needed to compress the springs). Not a hard job at all with right tools, this is the second time i've done it, so i wanted to save money and do it myself again. Saved time by not removing the upper control arm, just turn the wheel and they slide out. Good luck man...

I had been quoted 400 by both Lexus and general service shops to replace all 4 shocks and struts. I was to supply the shocks and struts.

I ended up doing it myself. As stated above, you just need a good spring compressor (rentable) and the right sized sockets. I had an air compressor and gun so that helped of course.

$300 is in line with a spring/shock install. Ball joints will probably be extra at almost any shop you go to. If you want to do the full Daizen bushing kit do yourself a favor and have a shop do it, it's also going to be expensive labor wise. It will be less than buying new arms but still a hefty chunk of change.

Thanks yall! Im just doing the ball joints and struts for now. I asked the same guys about the daizen bushings and they quoted me a grip! I sent them some info about tightening the pretensioner and they seemed willing to try so I think I will do that too while Im there. Im hoping this makeover will dramatically change the way may car feels! Ill let yall know how it turns out friday.
