Unhappy Brakes Making Noise

Hello all,
I noticed that my brakes are making a "clicking" noise when I change from reverse-to-forward or visa-versa. I was told by the Lexus staff that this ir normal. They told me that the clips that hold the brake pads in place are loose. I was told that the it would cost me $100 for them to inspect and replace the clips.

Has anyone else had this problem? Where did you get the clips from? (AutoZone, Walmart, Stealership) Was this a complicated task to fix?

Many thanks.

Damon

Default Springs

Damon - If they're referring to the anti-squeal springs, I'd imagine that those R dealership ( stealership - I LIKE that!! ) available items only. Not much to changing them either - they simply snap over the anti-squeal shims & hold the pads in place. Just take off one of the "clicking" side wheels & check to see if the clip's loose or stretched out. It may have come unclipped on 1 side. They look like X-shaped wiring & R clipped over the pads. Good luck with the troubleshooting!

two years ago I had the same clicking noise too, and there was a bad vibration on my steering wheer when I step on the break. The dealer told me the clicking noise is due to the break pads are worn out and the vibration is caused by the defective clips. So they replace the clips for free and charged for the new pads.
Last week i went back for break service because they are starting to make noise again, they said because my breakes have become loose and the is a movement between the break parts. the dealer did not replace any parts, not even the pads, but put some white heavy duty grease on the breaks. and it really works.
