Mark, do you have another login name on this forum. MaxOwner's signature is very similar to yours....

The_Best_GS you are a genus. That was not difficult to figure out. Same ip address different directory. Do you have a server at work or home? I am sure you know how it works.

Yes, this goes with the '98-'00 gs400. Read the thread "Vibrates like H**l"

your solution may not hold up. Lexus could and did balance mine every 3000 miles. On a $50,000 car. And the general manager said that somehow it was my fault.

I have vibrations. My 1994 Accord steering feels better.

So Mark, you prefer an Accord and wish you had a BMW and do nothing but complain about your Lexus - why do you keep it?

Talking

I think somewhere in here we lost sight of TMasta's problem. And it appears that he solved it for dry weather driving with a Hunter balance but still has problems anytime it's raining. Anyone familiar with his wheels??

Sounds weird to me but the only thng that suggests itself is some pocket formed by the wheel design that is somehow catching water and holding it by centripetal (not centrifugal) force so that the water pocket functions as a temporary wheel weight. But then I'd think that whatever pockets there might be would be present symmetrically, so the theory seems to refute itself.

TMasta, have you by chance kept the OE wheels and tried them? If they perform well both wet and dry then it's your 19s.

Anyone else got any ideas?? As opposed to debating the merits of Accords and BMWs.........

This is speculation but . . .it sounds to me like it could be hydroplaning.

Does it happen in light rain or heavy rain?

How much tread is left on your tires and what kind are they?

first thanks everyone for your replies...

mooretorque- i do have the originals.. and i know they do work perfectly fine.. i know it has somethign to do with my tires/wheels.. i just cant figure out what.. and its tickin me off!! all this money for rims/tires and it just doesnt want to cooperate with me!!!

realmarty - actually it only has happend 2 times..(hasnt been raining too much here) but it seems to be worse when its cold outside.. both were on the heavier side of rain.
the tires r only 2 months old dunlop sp sport 9000 (245/40/19,275/35/19)

Could simply be a result of hydroplaning comboined with temporary flatspotting from a cold tire sitting overnight.

Did the shaking go away after you drove for a few miles and the tire heated up?
