Default How loud are your aftermarket rotors?

I purchased aftermarket oe sized rotoras off ebay a while back. Since the day I put them on they have made noise. It almost sounds like really loud crickets only when the brake is applied. Its louder when wet. By the way the sound slows with decending speed, I would guess its the pads sliding over the holes and slots.
I know suzuki gsxr's make the same noise, but not near as loud. I was hpoing it would get quieter after wearing in the new pads, but no.At first I thought it was only coming from the rear, but now I think its coming from all four brakes. I was wondering if this is normal and if different pads, like axis, will soften the sound.???
Thanks!

I have the exact same issue. And I was told it was the sound of the air/gas being dissipated from the slots in the rotors. I was told it was a common sound, but mine sure is LOUD. And mine makes noticeable noise when just driving....even when the brakes aren't applied. You can't hear it with the windows up, but it's quite noticeable with the windows down.

It has something to do with the design of my rims (twin spokes), and the air/gas sliding through the slotted rotors. I certainly didn't expect it though when I bought them...at least they look and brake good though.

Yeah, its not so bad. Are you using the oe pads also? I plan on changing to axxis after these wear out.

No, I got some super-aggressive aftermarket pads. Great stopping power, but too much brake dust for me. I'm going Axxis Deluxe pads too as soon as these are done.

Quiet. Drilled though, not slotted.

Which pads? I want to stay away from too much dust! especially with the mesh style wheels Im looking at.

I got cross-drilled only (no slots)...with PBR Deluxe Plus (aka Axxis) all around....really grips well....virtually no dust.....and most important...no noise. Pedal feel is tight...minimal movement needed before gripping.

this sounds like my ES.. I replaced the brakes with Napa OE pads and rotors and it hasn't been the same since.. I going to put lexus brand back on there and get it back to normal.. I guess with lexus make sure its Lexus brand and not some cheap knockoff from Napa..

No noise? Hmmmmm? I wonder if I installed them incorrectly. Is that possible?
I think different pads will reduce te noise but I dont think thay can be silent. Even my old gsxr made the noise with rotors half the size.

'whoosh whoosh whoosh' say my slotted Rotora's with ceramic pads, but only when braking. Not very loud but it was noticable coming from stock. It's a good sound.

According to Rotora: "Under heavy braking conditions, a slight whirring noise might be detectable. Solid brake disc may produce more noise than a vented brake disc, this is normal."

No issues here ... EBC Crossdrilled/Slotted discs up front (previous owner fitted) with EBC Green stuff pads. It's most likely the choice of pads and discs?
