Cool Parking Brake

Just want to see if this is normal:

My parking brake is not really that hard to apply like a hand brake, like I don't have the feeling the same as when applying the foot brake....

Also...after I apply the parking brake on an incline and let go of the foot brake I feel the car lurch forward a little then come to a rest, almost as if it is resting against the transmission being in park.

I apply it in this order:

-park
-apply parking brake
-put car in park
-turn off car
-get out

Is this normal, is the parking brake still grabbing?

Mine is the same way, I have to press it in quite far for it to really grab.

If you want to be certain that the car is being held in place by the parking brake and NOT the tranny, just stop the car, put the parking brake on, then wait till it rolls a tad bit then stops. then put it in park.. This is what i always do when I park a stick shift car..

Engaging the hold button during normal stop and go traffic and the car does not lurch. However, applying the parking brake, then releasing the foot brake, it does indeed lurch a bit before it stops. Should it not simply stay where it is before you release the foot brake. Is there an adjustment to make it stay where it should. It was fine up to about 15,000 miles. LS 460 2010. It does the same whether the transmission is in park position or not, so it is not the tranmission that is holding the vehicle; it is the parking brake, but it takes a 1/8 or so revolution of the wheels to truly engage.
