This really sucked on the 400. Where the top bushing goes on the driver side was practically impossible to get to. I all but made origami out of my arm reaching up through lines, oil filter and under the AC compressor to get to it.. Glad that's over lol.

Agreed. My steering wheel went from being straight to 90 degrees right after this.

After installing my bushings I now have a shutter in the steering wheel while turning at low speeds. It's like the power steering is fighting me. The tire pressure is adequate and everything has now been double checked. Is my rack going out? Why would this pop up immediately after replacing bushings?

It's possible the rack was already damaged and now since the rack doesn't move freely during turns that the shutter is more apparent.

What is the condition of your tire? If it was already worn unevenly in the past and you change the alignment spec it can cause the steering wheel to fight a bit at low speeds and it'll follow the road. If this is the case, then your tire will eventually wear even across since the car is now in spec after getting an alignment.

Gotcha thanks, I would have to point to the rack although it's not leaking and the boots are perfect. The alignment was already in spec just before summer, I only did the bushings solely for a sporty feel. The old bushings and tires were in great shape. I've never been a fan of just letting things go, hence why this is driving me nuts lol.. Guess I'll keep digging.

Just did this upgrade and its a great deal better than it was before. My bushings were totally shot and in pieces! Very easy to do, even on the SC400. Thanks Daizen.
