Default 20k miles Used Tein Flex... Worth buying?

Hi i have a 2nd gen and a friend of mine has used tein flex he wants to sell me for only $400 but the catch is one of them is leaking or something so id have to repair it or buy anotherone. But he wants my stock suspension so id have to get another one since we can do an even swap.

Anyways my question is ... are 20k miles used flex any good? Im new at suspension anyone chime in please

$400 for 3 struts, 4th is blown, that will cost you about $200, plus your suspention is about $250. All will cost you about $850 total. Isn't better spending around 1G for lot less miles about 5K-6K on it, than $850 with 20K, i think choice is simple. I can hook you up with Tein Flex for about $1050 shipped and they were inspected by Tein. I think this is a deal

if it's damaged (as described) i wouldn't touch it, just too much hassle, and you will have to ship it back to tein, etc...

Wait, what the hell? $1000 new!?!
HOOK IT UP!!!

I want a extra set on hand in case a damper goes out. That way I wont have a long downtime with no suspension. Just swap in new set and go while old one is being rebuilt

Also, LEXSOOS I sent you a PM. Please get back to me soon, Thanks!

Depends if the unit was installed correctly or not, how it was maintained, and the driving style has a big part to play as well. If the coilover was not installed correctly, then the entire unit will be damaged in a very short amount of time. First it starts with the mounts and bushings, and then the problem might migrate further down into the unit. Might of been what happened to his friends set. Either that or he was taking his GS on a few rally courses

I wouldn't do it because if one strut is broken, the others might not be far behind.

Might just be a manufacture flaw in that one strut, but do you want to take the chance?
