Default Supra Springs and Struts Change

How many SC owners in this forum change their suspension to Supra suspension? I hear that it will lower the SC 1/2 in, did you like it and did you have to adjust any camber at all?

Thanks,

At least one person did. On my car it was basically 0.6 in rear and 0.4 front on sc300. Somewhat noticeably smaller fender-tire gap. Rides crisper, I have old shocks so I don't know if that affects the ride much. It takes the alignment a little out of spec, so you'll need an alignment job done to bring it back.

It's what should have been on the car to begin with IMO, do a search, there are many who have done this. The main reason I did it was that I had experienced the old rear suspension bottoming out in a hard corner, rapidly overstering, and decided that the original settings were too soft to even be safe.
I went without an alignment for a while after the swap since it was still in the range, but would highly recomend the settings that the Supra guys use, but without the huge camber( better tire wear on the street).

SCV8,

Do you mean align the SC400 with Supra Srings and struts with 94 Supra alignment specification?

Thanks,

Basically, yes, but I tend to use as close to 0 toe in in front, about a 1/16" in the rear, and 0- 1/2 degree(negative) camber in front, and around one degree(negative) camber in the rear.
Also not a bad idea at all to look for a Supra TT rear sway bar, and mounts to go with your spring/shock setup, also to use an offset, or staggered tire/wheel combo that is similar to the Supra setup.

Thanks SCV8,

I am still waiting for the Sway Bar end link (could't take the nut out when to allen wrench hole in the stud got bored out) and castle nut to be shipped from Carson Toyota. Will try the alignment spec as recommended. Don't know if I want to spend anymore money for the rear sway bar just yet.

Can you guy with Supra spring and struts install in your SC400 give me the height (mearsurement) from the ground to the lip of the fender on all four tires?
I changed the front and rear lower control arm with supra springs and struts. The car doesn't seem to be any lower. I forgot to measure the original height before the swap

The car is definitely stiffer, still wait for the new tires to intall to really see any change in cornering capability. My present tires are too worn out to do any sharp cornering

Thanks
