ABS removal.. anyone done it?
Not too many DIY'ers here but it cant hurt to check the general population. I want to remove the ABS system from my 93 GS300 for several reasons.. mainly the fact that I can brake deeper into the turns without it, as well as space and weight savings.
The brake master cylinder only has 2 ports on it..most BMC's without ABS have 3. Is there a Lexus/Supra variant that will fit that has no ABS? I will have to figure out the brake proportioning valve also, but that is small time compared to the lines themselves and BMC.
Anyone can shed some light?
Mods.. please dont move this to 1st gen..it will just die over there..

hmmph.. just about 20 lookers and no talkers at all. Just so you know, I've figured it out and I'm doing it tomorrow.
This is the reason...
It is playing hell with the way I need to route my charge pipes and I just dont like the feel of ABS to begin with.
Anyone want to buy an ABS pump from a 93 gs300?

Could you shed some light here fella? I'm thinking about the same for the same reasons you're doing it (2JZ swap in research) and ALSO for having experience OF MY OWN on the sorry ABS control... check this out: ABS brake lock failure on my GS300:
With abs the brakes on this heavy car lock REALLY BAD on thight situations... yes thats my car
It's getting fixed tough!! 1C0 paint, WED's Novaris 18 8.5-9.5, JIC coilovers... hehehe it'll be way better....

No problem, just remove the abs unit itself, and make bypass lines to jump the FR/FL/RR/RL together.
The master cylinder is pretty normal, not as complexly installed as you think.
Should free up a good 10 lbs or more too.
You can remove the ABS sensors at each wheel as well, along with the wiring.
Done it before, no problems at all.

Thanks TM..
i just noticed that you replied to this, but this is what i did.
the front exiting line from the master cyl coming to the abs unit I split in a tee to the front right and left brakes. The rear exiting line from the brake master cylinder I ran to the proportioning valve on the passenger side framerail. Correct? I used a double flare tool for the fittings and compared my fittings to the factory ones for size and shape and general integrity and they both looked the same.
i tucked the tee away up on the passenger side where the cruise control used to be. (93 GS300)
KidZik.. I'll try and get some pics to give you an idea on it.
