Quick rundown:

-Picked up Tokico Blues and Espelir spring combo recently.
-Installed new components on Thursday on my '95 SC4 with 43,000 miles.
-Car rides and handles great, but my parents think the car is way too low, and I'll need a **** load of alignment work and a camber kit to get it riding correctly.
-I need tires and had intended to get new wheels when my current tires wore out.

Here are my options:

A) Have my stock components (work great, not shot at all) reinstalled, and put the money from selling the Tokico/Espelir combo towards wheels. My parents already agreed to pay for tires.

B) Lose the Espelir springs (keeping the shocks) and trade out for some less aggressive ones (eibach?). This will save me from having to buy the camber kits, but then I won't have that money to put towards wheels.

C) Put the car back to stock, sell the aftermarket components and put that $300 ish towards wheels. Save up for a set of adjustable coilovers, and install everything at once. The only problem with this, is that I don't wanna put the 18's on the car without dropping it because I hate how our cars look in "off-road mode".

What do y'all reccomend? I've got a WTB in the classifieds now for the camber kits, but will go ahead and pull the thread if need be.

i have the same combo and my car rides fine without a ****load of alignment and camber issues. i have 18 inch wheels and no camber wear, and i only got my alignment done once after i put on my wheels with the suspension mod. if your parents and you are more worried about your safety, which you should be, spend the money on new tires first, or new wheels and tires. or keep your suspension setup, and get a decent set of wheels for your stockers until you have enough saved up for new wheels and tires. jus my 2cents. gluck

18" w/ a bit of 10 year old suspension sag doesn't look half bad

Seriously though, rolling stock is more important that looks. If you must, consider a set of Supra TT rims. Your parents are willing to pay for new tires, that's a pretty darn generious of them -- mine don't even pay for my food!

Take them up on it. Suffer the looks for a little bit, and then go w/ a set of coilovers and be done with it.

The car's on the stock 16" chromies, so I guess that's a reason it's riding so low and the camber is so out of whack.

The car rides (read: feels) fine, but the control arms are so stressed from the camber that much more driving will eventually lead to alot more being paid for than a camber kit.

Will 18" wheels and low-pros clear up alot of the camber? I'll try to get some pics of the car's before/after to show the difference.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the biggest factor for me is that I've only got about $250 in my spending account. I wouldn't dare touch savings... my mom would kill me.

I'm very fortunate. They've offered to pay for the necessary things like tires, oil, etc... They pay for gas until I get my license. Anything I want though, that's more than they wanna pay, I pay the difference for.

I'm thinking about sucking it up and living wih monstrous wheel gap over 18's for a while. I'd love to just save up for a nice set of adjustable Teins or JICs.

I wish I had old car suspension sag. I still have plenty of wheel gap on the car- it's pretty much new. 40,000 miles and this car is just starting to age.

I'll show this thread to my parents to let them see what people who really know these cars think about the situation.

wait...how can u wear out ur tires already when u dont have a license to drive? meaning ur not driving it everyday to wear it out so much.

trust me i know exactly what your talking about, before i got my 18s, i rolled on stock 15s, its wayyyyy low, as soon as you get bigger wheels the car hops higher by an inch or a little higher. i think i have some pics up somewhere on this site of my before with suspension and without rims and my after with rims, if not and your really interested i can find them again and put em up.

I'm on a permit and the tires were on the car before I bought it.

camber kit wouldnt hurt, but like i said i dont have irregular tire wear, so my car is fine, although you can see the camber.

I say sell your current Espelir/Tokico set up and put it towards a new set of wheels/tyres. Supra 17's or 17" GS300 are decent for our cars. I'm saying that considering you said that your stock sussy parts are all in good condition.

Yup, the stock pieces are still in great shape.

I was thinking about some HP EVOs for a similar price as the TT wheels (which I don't care for the look of) and they can be staggered unlike the Lexus wheels.

Sell everything that you have on the car, save up, and get tein basics.
They're only about $500 nowadays on ebay used or on the forums.

If you want damping adjustability, try the SS

Then after some drug deals, buy some rims and you're set.

yup what he said some tein basics would do fine. and as someone else said once you put 18's it will actually raise car a bit. I'm running same setup on 18's slight camber issues. had to roll rear fenders im 9.5 rear with 35mm offset .
