Default Torque on lug nuts

So this morning I decided to put my new torque wrench to use and loosened all the lugs (I could tell some were way too tight), and tightened them back up to spec (76 ft lbs). During the first drive after I had a really bad vibration at about 50-55 mph. What do you guys think? When I got to my destination, I tightened the lugs a bit more and that seemed to remedy it, but I'm wondering if damage had already been done i.e. warped rotors or whatever happens when the wheel lugs are too tight.

I tirqued mine to 80 ft lbs. After driving about 200 miles, torque them down again. You'll be surprised to find out a couple nut were kind of loose.
