GS430 Brake upgrade and VSC / ABS
I am thinking about upgrading my brakes on a 03' GS430. Are there any potential issues with the VSC or ABS that I should be aware of, such as the systems not working as well or at all? Also what would the effect on my warranty be, besides the obvious upgrade components? Does TRD make any brake upgrades for the GS430?
Thanks,
Shawn

There are a number of brake upgrades available from TRD and from third party vendors. Are you talking about a BBK (Big Brake Kit) or are you just talking about upgrading pads, lines, and/or rotor styles?
If you are looking at BBKs, what wheels are your running? OEM? You are going to run into fitment problems if it is OEM. What is your budget?
Once we know what your current state and what your goal is, we can better help you narrow down what is available.

Thanks for the reply. I want to do a full kit, and I don't really have a set budget. I am currently running the 17" OEM and a 16" aftermarket in the winter. It would be nice not to have to upgrade my winter rims since I spent a bunch of money on Blizzak tires. However a small rotor might look funny with the 19s I am planning on buying. So I guess I am not sure exactly what I want, just looking for suggestions. My main concern/question was about the ABS / VSC working properly after the upgrade, and warranty issues.

If you are planning to keep 16s, you will have to settle for the OEM size upgrades. This will just be more aggressive brakes, rotor style change, and/or stainless steel line.
The OEM 16s will not clear andy BBKs. The 17s may clear a couple but with spacers.
If you are willing to forego the 16s, there are a few kits out there: DIY ones (Supra TT, LS400), TRD (SupraTT, LS monobloc), Rotora, StopTech, AP Racing, Brembo, Endless to name a few. These also range in price in the hundreds to several thousands. All have different caliper clearance requirements. Just make sure your new 19s wheels is high disk so that they can clear the brakes.
