Default Important notice for those who want to use swaybars from the TT

I just finished installing Stillen sway bars for a TT (using TT subframe mounts)... it took me quite a while because the subframe mount itself needs to be slightly filed or dremeled because the mounting screws do not line up. One side of the mounts (2 on each end) is wider then the other.

So beware for those who wish to use the TT subframe mounts to use rear sways made for the TT

oh and no i have no clue how it feels cuz i still need to put the front in.... and its 3am right now

I ran into this same issue when I was putting mine on. Turns out they are side specific. Once you get them the right way, everything should line up exactly. At least mine fit without any mods...

that's weird... i put them on every which way i could... and one side was always off...

i must have gotten the "special" set or something haha

it's okay... a little bit of dremeling and filing took care of it

Mine went in fast as well.
Before you put the front bar on, check the tubing wall thickness by looking at the ends of the bar where it's flattened; I was told that the SC bar and TT front bars were identical, the TT at the junkyard that I measured was the same as on my SC400, so the front bar stayed on.

well i haven't gotten a chance to put on the fronts yet.... and i'm going with Stillen sways... so it should make a difference...

the weird thing is that the stillen rear sway is smaller in diameter than the stock sc300 rear sway , but the stillen is supposedly solid

i hope the fronts are easier than the rears

the stock TT front bar has the same diameter but thicker walls. There would really be no way to measure it aside from sawing the bar in 2

I think the TT bars are heavier than the SC's, although I didn't put mine on the scale when I changed 'em.

Duh! I'm sure that the new Stillen bars are different!
Didn't notice that part before.

The hollow sway bars are flattened at the ends; that is where you're able to determine the section of the tubing. Measuring with some calipers is a good way to determine the difference between the bars.

I would tend to agree that the Supra front bar is stiffer since my car now oversteers a bit with just the rear TT bar, stock front bar, but I measured the two and they were the same(?).
The wrecker's interchange books may be overlooking this also, but they list them as being the same part.

I had the same problem when I install the rear TT subframe mounts in my 1996 SC400.
Two of the bolts in each side did not line up properly and there is only one way to install the subframe mounts since they are marked with RH and LH on the rubber bushing.
It is strange that some of us had this problem and others do not, maybe has to be with the years of the cars.
