Default Thinking about Supra brakes...

Is this a good deal over at Supra Forums?

http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...ghlight=brakes

Anything missing that he doesn't mention that i would need to think about?

How easy is the swap?

The fronts are totally bolt on and installation is simple. Get braided steel brake lines while you're at it.

I assume you know that you need supra size rotors to go along with the calipers.

The rears are not bolt on.

You would need to make a custom bracket to adapt the mounting holes of the rear caliper. Take note that this bracket needs to be designed and built to withstand the stress factors of the whole caliper assembly or else.

The IS requires slight modding.

The GS and SC are bolt on.

I HAVE SPOKEN !

I used to have TT brakes on my car.

You also need to make sure your wheels will clear the brake calipers. Many don't.

Also, if you have a stock tire for a spare, you better check that as well or you'll be in for a very un-pleasant surprise.

Lot's of Supra TT spacesaver spare tires selling well on the classifieds as well.

Lot's of threads on these topics.

i doubt that. the ltuned fit just barely over the ap racing, and i believe the supra tt brakes are even a tad bigger

LOL. The guys from NorCal all know the tests we've done. RMMGS4 sold his TTs before we could do the test fit but we tested the Salinas on his APs. It barely fit and would need a small spacer to be safe. From that we concluded that the Salinas won't fit with the TTs because as Rominl said, the TT calipers are a little bit bigger than the APs.

Surprisingly, the Brembos apparently fit behind the Salinas as someone did that in San Diego and he said no spacers.

FYI - StopTechs and Rotoras will also fit behind the Salinas.

CinFulxGS4, I'm not sure if you will need new wheels again if you attempt the TT upgrade.
