Question How long does it take to put on Braided Stainless Brakelines?

Anyone got any idea how long it takes to take off the old brakelines,
And then put on the new Goodrich Braided Stainless Brakelines?

Post R&R SS Brakelines.

3Dog,
I would suggest getting some rubber vacuum caps to plug off the steel brake lines in the car when you take off the rubber brakelines. It will make it easier to bleed later. It will also keep the air from getting in the ABS actuator and the rest of the system. You'll need to bring it to the dealer if that happens. The vacuum caps should be readily available at any local parts store.
Good luck,
Will

Smile changing brakelines

I guess I need to say that I don't plan on doing this myself . I am taking it into the shop where i always have my work done. They have guys there who do this all the time. I was just wondering how many hrs I was looking at and trying to guess what the total bill would be. They charge $70 per hr so when I saw 5 hrs I was like oh no this is way to much.

2hrs sounds better but I'm still hoping for 1 hr.

If this fixes the mushy brakes and I don't have to spend to much, then the wife is going to let me buy a torque converter. However I will still need to wait to get some more money to pay for getting that installed. But I can tell I'm seeing the light at the end of a long tunnel, sometime this spring I'll have the torqueconverter to go with my 3.76 LSD

Would the cost of installing ss lines be any less if dealer is going to do a front brake job at the same time. Also, it is ok to use ss lines on just the front while keeping the oem lines on the rear?

Rheiy,
I don't think it would save you very much $$$. Replacing the brakelines is another issue. And no, it is not a good idea to run SS brakelines in front only.

nop, unless the brake job you talk about is "bleeding the brakes" (which you do every 15k miles or so), it won't save you anything

Why? I ran steel front lines for a while before putting them on the back too. No probs.
