brake wear
37,000 miles of freeway driving and the Lexus dealer is telling me that my rear brakes are nearly shot. I've got 70% left on the fronts but only 25% on the rears.
Since the car is front engine/rear wheel drive that sounds very odd to me. But I'm no expert.
The technician told me that the EBD on the GS and IS sedans is causing both models to use the rear brakes faster than the fronts.
Has anyone else heard of this? Does that sound reasonable?
Your thoughts/advice are greatly appreciated.

Wow that's interesting. I'm at 30,600 miles on my 11.5 month old 2004 IS. I should take a better look at the rears to see what kind of lifespan i'm looking at. Just had the 30k service done 600 miles ago so i'll have to check the paperwork to see the percentages.

resurrect an old thread -
Had my 40k done recently - the lexus techs told me I had 85-90% left on my brake pads - this with a mixture of highway/street and occassional monthly cruise up in the mountains . Probably telling me I'm not driving the car hard enough .
