Default What is a ball park cost for installing new brakes?

What is a ball park estimate on doing a complete brake job?

I already have all the parts:
Front and rear rotors (StopTech 14 inches for the front and OEM size for the rear),
front calipers, ss lines front and rear and pads front and rear.

I just need to know what to expect to pay for the install plus brake fluid.

I found out that a local Lexus certified technician works after hours (after he leaves the Lexus shop) and can work on my car. He quoted me US$150.00 (approximately $200.00 canadian) for the install. I think that is a good price. What does the dealer normally charge in labour for such an install?

Thats actually quite a bargain... I go to an independent mechanic, he charged me 90 to resurface front rotors, install front pads. The rears had tons of life left in them, so he didnt touch them.

Your getting the install of all 4 rotors, all 4 pads, and stainless steel lines all for 150... theres no way you'd walk away from the dealership without spending at least 300 on a job like that.

Do lexus dealers let you supply your own parts?

I have no idea if the Lexus dealer will let me supply my own parts. I am not taking my car to the dealer but to a place that the Lexus mechanic rents after hours to do such work. So I would be paying him cash.

Thanks Ed! I wish I lived in FL! I have scheduled the upgrade tomorrow night! He has to do it after regular business hours.

Yeah $150.00 US is a pretty good price. I paid $450.00 to install all the same things as you plus my coilovers and strutbars. But he wasnt Lexus certified. We also had to bleed my brakes twice due to me helping out

Jeez and I thought paying $75 for coilover install, big brakes install plus balancing is expensive....

Let's just say I paid several times more for my brake install. You are getting a great price! Have fun, and pay attention to breaking in your brakes.

Oh stop making us US guys jealous of your install pricing over there.
