bilstein sports are designed to work with lowering springs , the piston rod is slightly shorter giving less travel but more precise damping, the heavy duty is for stock ride height but better damping vs oem.. this info i got directly from bilstein hence why i now have bilstein sports with l tuned springs and loving every minute of it

what are your thoughts on the ride degradation? i know the handling is much ijmproved, as i believe Bilstein has a tremendous reputation to uphold.

ride quality is very subjective to ones own opinion but imo the ride is firm not harsh , i am on 19in stagg and you will feel the road surface however , couple these with a decent spring , daizen sways and upper and lower bracing and man does the car handle ,, too me much firmer and tighter then most bmw i have driven in..

but again make no mistake all the lexus oem ride will disappear but i am more sports minded so to me its more comfortable having total control

Excellent post guys

Helped me a great deal.

Ok, before I pull the trigger, can someone confirm the following:

Bilstein HD is more for OEM height (stock springs)
Bilstein Sport is for aftermarket springs (lowered)

Also, I'm getting the Eibach Pro Kit (lowering 1.00" - 1.25"), so the proper shock/strut has to be the Bilstein Sport right? Sorry for stupid questions.....I just wanted to make sure.

sports are the way to go my friend you will love them if you can wait a week or so i might be putting up my ltuned/bilstein set up for sale and maybe already assembled (strut mounts and all) i am thinking of going firmer with a tight coilover system for the way i drive i need every bit of tightness i can get

remember my bilsteins are 4 months old and were bought from shox.com so lifetime warr still in tact
