"Censorship" .... lol
Kind of entertaining reading threads about shift K n o b s, and every other word in those threads is censored... come on now
makes searching a PITA as well, have to use google to pull up results from CL
Change this to be normal...
K N O B is not a curse, unlike other four letter words.
kthxbye

And search for '****' worked just fine too. So I guess I need some links to know what you are remotely talking about...

Not sure why you would see anything different but glad it works for you. Maybe try clearing your browser cookies if it happens again

The OP has a point, Dave. I sometimes notice it, too. "*****" will sometimes be blanked out for no apparant reason, then, a couple of minutes later, in the same thread or post, spells out fine with no problem. That's happened to me several times. I notice it because I usually comment on dash ***** and controls in my car reviews.

Sorry guys, I've triple checked the censor files and there isn't any '****' or '*****' in there. While I've never seen it, I do believe you that it's happening for you both for whatever reason, but it isn't anything we've set.

The list of forbidden words should not be more restrictive than the one the FCC enforces. Right now it is. This is not Vatican after all. If you want a sample of what is allowed on ABC, CBS, or NBC, just watch a daytime show like Dr. Phil a couple of times. At 4:00 p.m. kids are already back home and can hear what mama is watching just fine and nobody is complaining.

FWIW, we are not governed by FCC rules. There are certain words we have censored because of most common uses as insults in online communities or based on complaints / repeated negative experience. We're certainly willing to reconsider if there is a valid reason.
