On another forum im rarely on, it has a live chat box right above the navigation on the home page of the forum, i think that'd be really cool, and it could possibly eliminate a LOT of useless threads, (especially coming from rookies like me) i dont know how forums work and im not sure if mods could segregate each individual forum, or have the power to make such a change, but i think it'd be a nice addition.

You know what I think thats a great idea actually.

It would eliminate alot of useless threads and questions forsure. It will help people comminicate to eachother also, great idea.

Chat is not only a security issue, it has nearly slowed every forum it is on to a crawl. You're ALREADY on a chat forum, when you replace it with something it no longer gets used.

I agree with you B. For some odd reason, any forum with a chat box is slow as *****. And I'm on Comcast's highest data speed.

Appreciate the idea! Unfortunately also every forum I see it on has a lot of issues with it as well, most mentioned above.

The chat box just gets the same exact questions asked in chat vs posted, but they never get recorded and just keep getting asked over and over again 95% of the time it's used for off topic chat though.

We already have the PM function for any personal-chat that does not need to be posted in public, or is better-off said in private.
