Imagine all the traffic that would draw in from around the world. People that don't even belong to this or any web forum would come here to learn how to fix/replace things themselves. You gotta make it in Java or ASP so that "the other guys" can't steal 'em

LOL. Me, in prison. I will be calling Lexus Corp to PROVIDE the manuals. Anyhow, I have the numbers to the product educators. So, I'll be giving them a call on what they think.
My take, why not? It's not like secretive information? If you fork out the cash, you can buy it at any dealership. It's not like you have to do an application to buy them.

Static, it’s a great idea – however, I doubt that it will fly. While you could “reprint” with permission of the copyright holder (as Bit noted) I think that Lexus is not likely to agree. There would be perceived liability issues and I doubt their legal department would allow this to happen.
That having been said, it still wouldn’t hurt to contact Lexus USA and see if there are some other ways that they could participate (at arm’s length) in CL. I don’t know what the member count is in CL, but I would hope that they’re smart enough to take advantage of the exposure that could come from positive contributions to a sizeable united group of owners.

Wish me luck. If I can't get all the manuals, I will try to get "condensed" versions of them or anything I can.

Ethan I gotta agree with the guys on this one.. I just can't see Lexus corporate approving online access to their shop manuals but if you can pull it off its a GREAT idea.. If they do appove then they would approve of CL which opens a whole bunch of other doors..

Obtaining ALL Lexus Shop Manuals at Good Price

If the on-line shop manual idea doesn't fly (and I suspect it won't due to copyright infringements), maybe we can transform that idea into finding affordably priced, comprehensive shop manuals for ALL Lexus automobiles? I for one, have an ES300 and cannot seem to find a "comprehensive" technical manual (separate from the Camry) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. This is just one, I am sure, of many issues that all Lexus owners have with finding a decent technical manual that a Lexus owner can appreciate, is truely useful and affordable.
What do you think???
