Question Buying from CL Vendors...Safe?

I'm curious how safe it is to purchase wheels, or anything for that matter, from vendors here on CL. What exactly do they have to do to become one. Do they simply email an administrator and say I want to sell stuff on your site and voila! Instant vendor? Or is there more to it?

I only ask because of past experiences. With my past experiences, vendors seem anxious and willing to email/PM you tons prior to a sale, but once the sale is made, all of a sudden they're "busy" and won't respond to any inquiries.

Vendors pay a fee here to be a vendor. but ive had good experiences with vendors here and i dont worry much because i know if they are on one forum then theyre on another.

i've done business with vendors on CL, most of the time you can tell that other people have done business with the same vendor as well.. when you see a list of prior transactions that have gone smoothly, then it's easier for you to trust them

agree. i am speaking here as a member. even on clublexus i'd be very careful on vendors and such. looking at prior history goes a long way. long time reputable and big vendors like sewell lexus are generally good bets, and i have had great experience with them. some newer vendors like nigel, they have a lot of members backing them up and i'd have no problem going to them.

but i wouldn't go to any vendors just because they are vendors here on CL. there are vendors who we have had issues before (i won't name them), some were even dropped by IB or left the forum due to complaints and such.

always ask around

Most of our vendors are great. Its just a few that keep ignoring my requests and all despite raising the same question over 5 times. I just let it go eventually. However, those type of vendors are very few. You should be fine with most of the ones we have right now

I've purchased from only one CL vendor so far (M1 autosports) and had an experience that left a sour taste in my mouth, so I won't be dealing with them anymore, but I will try others. It's amazing how many in the sales industry don't understand (or care about) the importance of customer retention.

Come to think of it, I think MVP motorsports is a vendor too, but I've dealt with them for Supra parts. Nothing but good experiences with Dusty at MVP.

i had good experiences with carson toyota 2/2 and lexus of westminister 1/1. i also had LEDS installed by ledconcept - but i've only had them for a week or two, so i can't really endorse its longevity yet; otherwise I'm happy with my purchases so far...

Well, I bought some wheels from B2AutoDesigns, and aside from a lack of communication after order was placed, it went okay.

I got my wheels.
