Buying from CL Vendors...Safe?
I'm curious how safe it is to purchase wheels, or anything for that matter, from vendors here on CL. What exactly do they have to do to become one. Do they simply email an administrator and say I want to sell stuff on your site and voila! Instant vendor? Or is there more to it?
I only ask because of past experiences. With my past experiences, vendors seem anxious and willing to email/PM you tons prior to a sale, but once the sale is made, all of a sudden they're "busy" and won't respond to any inquiries.

i've done business with vendors on CL, most of the time you can tell that other people have done business with the same vendor as well.. when you see a list of prior transactions that have gone smoothly, then it's easier for you to trust them

but i wouldn't go to any vendors just because they are vendors here on CL. there are vendors who we have had issues before (i won't name them), some were even dropped by IB or left the forum due to complaints and such.
always ask around

I've purchased from only one CL vendor so far (M1 autosports) and had an experience that left a sour taste in my mouth, so I won't be dealing with them anymore, but I will try others. It's amazing how many in the sales industry don't understand (or care about) the importance of customer retention.
Come to think of it, I think MVP motorsports is a vendor too, but I've dealt with them for Supra parts. Nothing but good experiences with Dusty at MVP.
