Editing PM's after you have sent them.
After you have either sent a PM ( private message ) to a CL member or have replied to one, if you then notice that you have misspelled a word or otherwise have typed in something wrong, how can you go back and edit or correct that message? With a normal post in a normal thread, of course, you have the " Edit " feature at the bottom, along with the " Quote " right next to it.
However, the PM's, at least on my computer, don't seem to have that " Edit " feature at the bottom. I also checked the long list of "Edit " functions down the left side.......Edit Avitar, Edit Signature, etc....... but STILL could find no way to edit a PM that has already been sent.
How can this be done?

Answer is simple, spell check before you push the send button.

Three things.
First, No, I didn't cuss out Dave....or any of the moderators. I'm still an active CL member....otherwise I probably wouldn't be.
Second, the spell check doesn't cover everything....especially with the thousands of car names we use back and forth here every day.
Third, sometimes you DO catch yourself making a mistake even with correct spelling.....things like the differences in auto trim lines between DX, LX, EX, GX, etc.........and need to go back and clarify.
I still think an edit function is a good idea but if it is too expensive or unfeasible for the current CL software, OK, no problem..............I'll drop the subject. ( And you do have a point, bit, about the feature being somewhat redundant after the person reads it )

PMs are not like posting in the forums. Like other members have said, treat it like email. Once it is sent, it is gone and you cannot edit it. I don't know of any email program that will let you do this. It is not a matter of feasibility or cost.
I do remember at one point, the software allowed you to recall the message ONLY IF the recipient has not read the message. You can see this status in the Track Messages page. I am not sure if this recall feature is still possible. Once the PM is read, though, you cannot recall it either.
