What's the max speed that folks have hit on their RXs? Where does the limiter kick in? Just curious! Obviously nothing better for me to do on a Sunday night
Can you get any higher than 110 (unless you mod the chip)?
Mine was elec. limited at 110. I guess you can get it over 110 by going down hill, hahaha? Boy, was it scary too. the steering wheel got all stiff and there was a slight breeze, and I thought I was gonna lose control.
I got my fathers X5 up to 105 and it was bit*#in'! No problems what so ever. It just felt a lot more stable than the RX.
I got my girlfriends altima 3.5 se up to 110 and that was a breeze (obviously). I dont think Ill try the 110 in the RX again.
When I had a '99 RX300, I topped out at 108 on my way back from Las Vegas. Then I got pulled over by the Sheriff, yelled at, and given a ticket. It was Christmas day and 3 weeks after I got my car. It could have been worse I suppose, since in California it would've been a misdemenor. I used to really love that car.
oh yeah, all and any statements or claims are the opinion of me, and not the dealership. In no way, does Longo Lexus condone speeding or unsafe driving practices.

I once got in a race with a Hundai Sante Fe. I remember hitting 108 a couple of times. Yes it is very unstable after a hundred but like it is said , it is only an SUV. Oh and that Sante Fe, could never catch me.....ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.
110mph regularly(ecu limited) and the car is stable - as I don't have those GoodYear Integrity's - I now have speed rated Kuhmos' which makes a world of difference at speed.
redtoesblue, not that it matters but i was between 120-130 when it topped out (closer to 130) why would i lie, from the posts it seems alot of peeps top out at around 115 'ish i do 100 -110 easily everytime i get on the road, LOL when my motor locked from the sludge i was doing about 90 and i floored it, when it hit the passing or whatever you want to call it the RPM's shot to what looked like about 8000 and then the motor completely locked up with no warning lights or anything, they had to replace the whole motor, nothing reusable or rebuildable
the 120 - 130 i did with about 4,000 miles on the new motor, donno if that makes a difference or not, but i have never noticed a limiter of anykind kick in ever
unless my speedometer is off, thats all i can say
(i can give much credit to lexus on the design of the roof rack for sure, we did 105 with 4 surfboards on top on the highway and it didnt even budge or rattle or rip off for that matter)
