Default Tire size suggestions for 09 2is awd

Hey guys,
I have a 09 is250 awd with stock 17" wheels. The stock size are 225/45/17. I got a awesome offer for a set of 18". But done know what size tires that I should get with them. I live in NYC and roads are terrible so not looking to get anything very low profile. Online isn't very good help, so I come asking the wise on this matter.

If you have the stock setup then you have 225/45/17. Since the vehicle is AWD your options are limited. You should keep the same size on all 4 wheels.

So if you want to run the 18 rims you can go with either a 225/45/18 or a 235/45/18. I am pretty sure they should both fit. I just put on a set of Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 and really like them over a set of Bridgestones RE970's I had on before.

The 235/45/18 are $92 a piece plus shipping. Costco or a garage can put them on for you for about $15 a piece.

If not you can stick with your old size (225/45/17) and they are $67 a piece.

Since you get some snow up there I don't think you shouldn't run a summer tire unless you get a set of snows for the 17's and run the 18's with some Michelin Pilot Sports during the summer.

Thanks for the advise. I already got continental dws 06 on my 17's. They are awesome in the snow. But the 18's I'm getting are coming with snow tires barely used, so I am happy.
