I just found one for $2,300 with 14k miles on it, fits a 2008.

Maybe add 10 hours labor ($1,200 + $2,300 = $3,500). Give or take (more likely give) a thousand.

OP: What's wrong with your transmission that can't be fixed for less than replacing it (not at the dealer, obviously)? I guess its a CV transmission so there may not be many shops know how to work on it. Still, the obligatory Lexus "we don't know what's wrong so, hey, we'll just screw you to replace it" ain't gonna fly here!
