Default 97 LS400 A/C issues

Precursor, I do A/C for a living, I own A/C tools, I've searched, I've ran the auto/recirculation diagnostic, my results were lights stayed flashing with flashing 00. The car has refrigerant in the system, the compressor spins freely by hand. One thing could have affected my system was me operating the vehicle with bad catalytic converters, never threw a code, just caught my yard on fire and I figured that was a good sign to change them. Any advice is greatly appreciated, and if for some reason you just happen to no this car extremely well, my subwoofer stopped working out of nowhere the other day, thanks.

Cat's usually only fail for a reason. How is your fuel economy? Idle? Starting when hot?

So what is the actual problem with the AC system? The compressor just won't engage or what?

Set it to cold, turn on the blower, hit the a/c button, it turns solid green, then shortly after it starts blinking. Car has 200k miles, I could smell them starting to go bad, as far as fuel economy, this is my economy car, my other cars are jzx81 cresta, 1jz is300, and the lovely fuel sipping RX8.

What is the refrigerant? And even with the correct pressures are you sure the correct quantity is installed? If that is all good then a check of pressure switches and clutch control system. Finding a wrecking yard climate control to try is an option as well, incase something is wrong there. So far I've had good luck with ones from the wrecking yards. I've done a few LCD's on them and worked fine.

Does your car exhibit any other peculiar drivability issues? Reason I ask is because leaking caps in the ECU can affect a ton of system components.

There's nothing on my car that doesn't work, my power antenna still works perfect, all of my lights and my gauge cluster into my HVAC controls and radio are all working. Guess I'm just going to have to grab a meter and go through it one by one at each sensor. I just thought there might be a way to figure it out without having to do all that

I was getting ready to replace the 5 on my 97' when I had some spare time regardless, unless of course the previous owner put a new ECU in if I can find evidence of on the case. But buying all the caps from Digi-Key was only 5 bucks shipped.
