Default Rear Axle Vibration-New Owner

I just picked up a '06 GX470. One owner vehicle -138k miles and my first Toyota/Lexus vehicle. I owned 3 Land Rovers prior so I am adjusting to the differences.

My question is I can feel the rear axle moving or shaking a lot on fairly smooth roads. I have the air suspension switch set to the middle position, but it seems excessive. Should my first plan be to look at bushings being worn or is it common for the air bags or struts to wear. I want to enjoy the GX before I tear into it, as my primary use is schleping my dogs to the park and Home Depot runs, but once I iron out some bugs (parking brake broke today) I want to venture out to do some road trips with our Rottweiler. Thanks in advance.

First of all, get your tires rebalanced. Most likely that's the cause.

Second, the shock firmness switch will effect the bounciness of the suspension. Most people like it on the full firm setting, all the way to the right. If it's still too bouncy, shocks probably need replaced.
