Default changed out lock actuator but door locks when i unlock car and unlocks when i unlock?

lock actuator went out on my drivers side rear and i got it changed out with a used one. Also the area where the ball on the cable connects to the lock broke so i had to get a another door handle. After replacing both lock actuator and door handle, making sure both cables are connected to the lock and door handle, that one door would lock when the whole car is unlocked and it would unlock when i lock the whole car. I have to manually open the door and lock it from the inside so it stays locked. Has anyone ever had this problem?? i am completely lost on what to do if i need to get another lock actuator or just the cables??

my bad on title dont know how to change title but

changed out lock actuator but door locks when i unlock car and unlocks when i lock?

The 2 power conductors are wired backward causing the actuator motor to move in the opposite direction as the other 3 doors.

The diagram on the left is for the non-UL LS-430, and the diagram on the right is for the UL model with the soft-close system.

I'm a little confused. Does this mean i have to get another lock actuator assembly? Mine is without the easy door lock assembly.

OK, so you have the non-UL model and the actuator connector should have 4 conductors. As shown in the diagram below: Terminal 1 (Red with Light Blue stripe), Terminal 2 (Black), Terminal 3 (Light Blue and Red stripe), and Terminal 4 (Light Blue with Black Stripe)

First, please make sure you can identify the 2 power wires going to Terminal 3 (Light Blue and Red stripe), and Terminal 4 (Light Blue with Black Stripe) to operate the lock motor. Per your description, these 2 wires are connected backward and you need to reverse them. I'm not sure why the replacement actuator is operating backward, but one cheap way to address the symptom would be to cut these 2 wires and reconnect them to the other wires, as shown in diagram below. If you don't feel comfortable altering the wire harness, the correct thing to do is to buy the right actuator assembly, and do a rip-and-replace repair.

Ill try taking the actuator off tomorrow and see what i could do. Not too experienced with electrical stuff. I got the actuator of a 01 ls430 same year as mine without easy close option from the same door i needed it on. Ill post updates if i get it fixed or find something. Thanks for the input!

Default Having the same problem, please help

Hello:

I am having the same problem. I have a Toyota Corolla 2011 and recently changed 3 of the 4 door lock actuator motors. The work well but backwards and I am not sure how to fix it.

Thanks for any help.

The polarity of the motors is reversed.

Correct. That’s how DC motors work. Just find the power and ground wires. Cut, switch, resplice.

Default Changed driver side actuator motor

Everything was put back the way it should. But it’s doing the same thing others experienced ( when press lock; it’s unlock. When press unlock its lock.

is the problem with the new motor? Or the door ecu need reprogram? Could anyone help?

There are many fake Mabuchi motors sold and those are reversed polarities. It works connecting the + and - reversed but I don't know how long they last.
