Default Talk me out of a 2011 ls460

Yeah so I'm 53 years old been driving pickups and vans for work since I was 18. I'm a little tired of it. I was at the auction today visiting a friend and Sat in a 2008 ls460. It was like sitting in my living room. I have to have one. I'm thinking 2011 ish with under 70,000 if I could. Have I lost my mind? Is there a way to check engine hour run time? Thanks for your help. And I'm glad I finally found your secret

Perfect. That's what I was afraid of. Any idea on how to check the engine hour meter?

Was it a taxi cab? I wouldn't worry about it.

no lol. Just low miles on old car sometimes means lots of run time. I think 70k miles average 40 miles an hour is better than 70k 15 miles an hour. So I was just curious if there was a way to pull up the info like on my dodge and ford trucks.

No, you see your meters on trucks because they do idle so much. Not a common readout.

If a supremely comfortable and built like a tank Luxo-barge isn't what you're looking for...by all means go ahead and talk yourself out of it. Bought correctly, they can be the used car buys of the century!

I have an '08 with 96,000 miles. If I told you it had 15k, you'd believe me.

I just moved to a very late production 2010 460L (2 months away from 2011 stamp) and couldn't be happier. Mine had just under 66k at time of purchase. Prior to this one, I had a 2004 LS430 that I got rid of at 248k trouble-free miles and prior to that I had a 96 LS400 that I got rid of at 225k trouble free miles. Don't be concerned with miles or engine time. By going with a 2011, you're avoiding the main issues these cars had (brake actuator and control arm issues) which were most prevalent in 2007-2009, although many members on this forum with cars in that range have had 0 issues.

The LS is a luxury car that has the reliability of a tank. And once you drive it on a road trip you'll be mad you waited so long to buy one. You came to the wrong place to be talked out of an LS..!

So let me get this straight, you came on the Club Lexus 4LS forum to get talked out of getting a 4LS? Hmm, lol. Stop thinking about it and buy the car. Just make sure it checks out mechanically and you'll be fine.

Welcome to CL, one of the worst forums you could possibly be a member of...
Regarding the LS, I'd stay away from it. My ownership experience has been horrible as I've had to fix countless items on this car.
I think the LS is a heap, and "they" continued to get it wrong on the 13+ models.
Just my 2 cents...
Happy shopping!

Don't listen to CRowe14, he's just bitter because he's already had to replace his wiper blades and put air in his tires. They're otherwise very reliable.

You failed to make mention of my battery replacement Chris. And the fact that I have to put gas in it... Lets not make light of these points. If you're going to spill the beans, spill them all!
