could someone tell me what causes this pls?
I just had the dent fixed in my front quarter panel, and the trunk lid put on, but I got my car back and there was this residue/ debris on the back side of the wheel wells. the body shop is saying it was there before I brought it in, which it might have as it was dirty before they washed it, and I just didn't notice it.
they are saying it is from driving in the snow
anyone else experience this? he brought out a rag with special solution and tried to remove it but it wouldn't come off. looks like ill have to bring it back to get that issue fixed as well.

without being there to see it up close or touch it, hard to say. google clay bar, buy one, see if it takes it out. if not, you can try more invasive methods like polishing or even harsher, wet sanding. if that doesnt work, then you need to repaint.

will do...thanks for the suggestions. hopefully the clay bar works. est is 250 to get it repainted for both sides, which seems reasonable, would just like to try the cheaper methods first.
I was wondering once I get it cleaned by whatever method, if I put a paint protectant strip over that area, if whatever that is would be less likely to stick to that? thoughts?

@ ridiculous - yes he does great work for more than reasonable prices. he fixed and painted the front drivers side door, came out real nice.
@doodlebug- thanks for the confirmation, definitely going to add that as well.
@lveyolfe - yes going to try a clay bar and then bring it to a detail shop to see what they can do. yes quoted 250 to get both sides done. not bad

If you run your fingers over the white area and it's raised and bumpy, then you can clay bar and/or buff it out. Repainting seems unnecessary, but it is really hard to tell by the picture so good luck!

Try these steps 1st before you pay hundred of dollars
1, Baby Wiper at Walmart , 2 Machine wax with Turtle Wax, 3, 3M removal from 3M tape company, i don't wanna suggest you with Headlight Cleaner chemical because its too much.
WD40 works too, if i were you i will try Baby wiper and WD40 1st, and the 3M removal i would say 90% chance it's work and safe ! if you going to repaint you have to paint the whole thing and it's will not be OEM paint anymore Pro will sees it and notice the paint isn't Original. Up to you though.

@dark- yes you can definitely feel it when you run your hands over it. going to try a clay bar first
@jkonquer - im on it
@solara- thanks man ill look into the WD40 and 3M removal if the clay bar doesn't work. the drivers side door has been repainted so its too late for keeping it all OEM.
