Default Custom Straight Pipe w/Video

I had a previous thread from a while back about a muffler delete I built for my 2012 OSB ISF, got around to making the mid pipe and it attaches to the factory mufflers in case I decide to sell it or quiet it down for a bit.

Enjoy.

now thats how you make a custom exhaust. nice work. i was going to make the same v band system on the borla exhaust since it comes with crappy clamps but the cost was very high.

Yeah I used 304SS, purged as well. I have a local supplier who has prices so good its almost free, sanitary stainless so its polished inside and outside. I live in Canada, so the exchange rate deters me from buying states side stuff.

Have you thought about doing a system in Titanium?

I have heard very good things for the summit racing vband clamps and they are half the price of others like vibrant and such.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliments. I personally don't believe I have been satisfied with any welding or fab work Ive currently done in my career (10 years +/- in Oil & Gas/Motorsport as a hobby-passion split), because I always see my own flaws and therefore room for improvement on every single thing I do.

Its somewhat in the works, I have too many revisions to do before Im fully satisfied with the end result and then I will rebuild the axle back in Ti. The straight pipe is too rowdy for daily driving in the city and my community, especially cold starts at 5:00-6:00am.
My idea is a 3" axleback with a muffler I find satisfactory for everyday driving with an electric cutout on the other side of the Y for days when I don't give a damn about kids/parents in the community.

I only use non brand name V-Bands (mostly "Performance World"), I find after welding most of the brand name assemblies tend to leak. I smoke test every exhaust, intercooler, charge piping etc I build.
I especially have a hard time getting Borg Warner's EFR turbos to seal with the marmon style flange and after we've machined them down to a conventional V-Band

Im 2.5" from headers to midpipe which it then ramps up to a 3" the rest of the way, so I feel like Im at the upper limit of noise emission. Although Im sure this might dampen performance a bit, I honestly could care less as I don't have a track or anything of the sort near me...mind you I did make 349whp on a Dyno Dynamics at 3000~ft elevation.

I'm in Calgary as well, cool to see a bunch of us checking in on here.

Great job on the exhaust, OP!
