Stone chip on front camera- What to do?
Recently i just noticed that there is a scratch on the front camera which appears to be stone chip. Any ideas about how to fix it,or do you have to replace the camera?

wow that's crazy lol
the EXACT same thing happened to me a few weeks ago and in the exact same spot. I'm just learning to live with what looks like a bug splatter on my screen haha.

Thanks for the heads up. I will order a tempered glass protector for an iPhone camera lens and stick on the front camera. Maybe I'll stick some on the ones under the mirror and tailgate so won't worry about scratches.

or maybe this since the front lens seems slightly larger than the iPhone lens.

Yep, sometimes the price to replace can help with the making the choice on replacement.

That sucks, that replacement cost is insane! I have heard you can use clear bra material to cover the lens and just replace the clear bra cover when it gets scratched, but I do not know what that will do to the camera resolution/picture quality. I would think it would not be as clear, but that is just a guess. I decided not to cover mine and just hope for the best...

Just a thought, maybe a glass place like speedy auto glass could do something? Doesn't hurt to check.

It's bound to happen. It's on the front of the car. Gonna see if the xpel sticks and how it blurs the vision and prolong it as long as I can until it needs to be fixed.

Sweet...that was my exact concern: optical clarity! I was going to take some old cell-phone screen protector film and give that a try myself and see if it works. But, if PPF works, I'll just have my film guy put some Suntek on it!

Would the liquid glass that windshield repair guys use work for this?

Sorry OP. Maybe try bringing it to a glass windshield place to see if there is anything they can fill it with?
dchar, I doubt the len covers will fit unless you can find one with the same curvature as our front camera. Please do let us know if it works tho.
