Default RC F Transmission shifter popping into neutral during hard braking

8,000 miles, suffered from nav system glitch and spoiler, supposedly updated with a TSB that addressed it. So the transmission shifter will pop into neutral during hard braking, not sure exactly why. Any one else suffering from this? I do have a video I made of it and it's really weird, I figured this might happen in a Ferrari, guess the brembo's are better than what I give them credit for......

has not happened to me, but would love to see the video. Brembos are good, but I don't care too much for the dust

Something is broken. Brembo has very little to do with how hard the car stops. Stopping distance and stopping g-force is limited by the tire/road interface, not the calipers, pads, or rotors despite what any number of magazines might say. My IS F is 300 pounds lighter and sits on 255s in the front. I've never had the shifter move under braking even at road course HPDEs.

Are you sure your hand is not hitting the shifter during hard braking? Do you rest it on the shifter?

that's what I thought at first, until one day I noticed it and my friend said he saw the shifter move, I'm not sure how to post a video on here.

You can see clearly in the video the shifter snapping into neutral solo. now if only my manual car did that!

Curious. Just how hard are you braking, lol? Also, do you have PCS?

no major mods to speak of. Braking...... I just press down on the brakes in a rapid but controlled manner, basically as hard as the brakes can brake lol

I do have PCS.

The transmission in manual mode feels really clunky, similar to how my GT-R drives.

I from time to time, do a full stop where I lay into it, just to remember the cars capability. The car can really be hauled down from speed. I have never had it pop out of gear in this situation.

I see this is an old thread...but I’m fairly new here so here goes:

After my ‘14 GS 350 was lightly rear ended, the transmission would move forward and back under hard braking. It had something to do with needing to re-align the transmission mount after a sudden forward/rearward impact. I could put my hand on the shifter before braking hard, and I could feel and see the motion up thru the shifter. Never kicked out of gear, but was told by the dealer that Lexus tranny mounts are “one and done” if the tunnel has been shocked hard. I just thought it was a cool idiosyncrasy of my good ol GS. And a reminder of my accident.

Not saying anyone would hide anything from you, but get underneath with a pry bar and see if there is movement around the transmission mounts in the tunnel.

^^ Or something has gone wrong with the shifter linkage components that are attached to the side of the trans..
